What is Integrative Gestalt Therapy?

The person as an indivisible whole.

Physical, emotional and mental processes are not seen in isolation, but understood as belonging together.

01

Wholeness

Body, feeling and thought are understood as belonging together – not as separate parts.

02

Relationship

The therapeutic relationship is at the centre. Here, individual patterns of relating can be experienced and worked through, and new experiences become possible.

03

Expression

Alongside conversation, non-verbal expression is encouraged – for example through creative media – to make the unconscious accessible, tangible and integrable.

04

Perception

Learning to trust and express your own perception – together with developing good self-support – is a central aim.

A holistic, dialogical approach.

Integrative Gestalt Therapy combines concepts of different origins – from psychoanalysis, Gestalt psychology, the philosophy of holism, existentialism and phenomenology to Eastern psychologies – into a holistic, dialogical approach.
